NO CONFIDENCE?
Another leftover John O'Donnell hack is coming under fire from the college community. A finalist for president at Owens Community College back in February, Dr. Diab has been announced as a finalist at North Central State College. Influential members of the Faculty Association are now talking openly about a statement of no confidence for the Provost. We have had as much as we can take with his meddling ways and total lack of leadership. Obviously he doesn't want to be here, so why don't we give him a head start on down the road? The administration has gotten word and is scrambling to keep this from boiling over. You don't want to miss seeing the fur fly at this Friday's Faculty Association meeting where Dr. Jones will be in attendance. See you there!
I want to respond to the spineless excuse of a person who authored the posting about Dr. Diab. What kind of a coward do you have to be to slander someone and then not have the courage to sign your name? You have the right to say whatever you want about Dorey Diab, but at least have the guts to say who you are. And by-the-way, you don’t speak for the Faculty Association. It must be easy to live in your little world and lie about whatever you want, you slimy weasel. Now I’m going to sit back and watch you come after me.
ReplyDeleteI’ll sign my name,
John David
I know who you are!
ReplyDeleteTake the comments about Dorey down NOW or I will expose you!
Dorey Diab is a man of honor and has put his heart into working for our college. What you wrote is nothing but lies. You have always been a troublemaker. You are not going to be in the shadows for long.
Steve Morosko
I have not heard one bad comment about our provost. Where are you getting this information? I was at the faculty association meeting and nothing like this was said. I hope Dr. Diab does not leave our college, he is a wonderful leader.
ReplyDeleteI have to disagree with you this time Arnold. Dorey is loved by the faculty.
ReplyDeleteJohn, I do not claim to speak for faculty association and yes Dr Diab has his supporters though they dwindle daily. Your lickspittle ways are well documented going back to your term as fac assn president. Steve, stop the posturing. Rank and file instructors do not like having their reviews in part based on how many students drop class, especially since it has been documented that 90% cite personal reasons as the cause. Dr. Diab spun himself in circles trying to explain why we continue on this path at our last meeting. We are scared sheep. Nobody speaks up for fear of having your schedule messed with and your overloads taken away. That is why this blog is anonymous.
ReplyDelete"Dorey is loved by the faculty." You must be joking, because this is certainly NOT a sentiment shared among the faculty I know.
ReplyDelete"I have not heard one bad comment about our provost." Then you can't possibly have been listening very hard.
"I was at the faculty association meeting and nothing like this was said." Well, of course it wasn't. Faculty association is dominated by rank-and-file yes men who wouldn't dare say crap without an administrative blessing even if their mouths were full of it. Faculty association is supposed to be an advocate for faculty, and instead it is ineffective and impotent. There's a reason why a number of us no longer choose to be members.
I think it's very sad to see college-level educators trying to squash anyone's free speech and expression of criticism, particularly those on a non-college-owned forum. Disagree or debate all you want (and just to be clear, I don't agree with every post written throughout this blog either), but threatening to "expose" someone at work if they don't remove their comments is EXACTLY the kind of thing that necessitates being anonymous. Signing or not signing one's name does not affect the merit of an idea or an expression, and as Arnold pointed out, there may be very real employment consequences for those who dare to express publicly. The hostile reactions here surely proved that point.
